Blue Marsh Lake Water Safety Festival - On June 15, 2008, the Army Corp of Engineers held a Water Safety Festival. There were a variety of booths and displays. Presentations were given on life preserver safety, SAR by horseback and dogs, and a demonstration of the proper use of fire extinguishers. Also present was the Penn Star Helicopter from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. However, the real excitement of the day was when the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Helicopter flew in! Our friends from the Harrisburg Flotilla, did a wonderful job explaining their job with the AUXAIR Operations of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary! Check out the photo gallery page from the event.
